This review of Zen Shots was written in return for a gifted print. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Recently the boys and I were offered the chance to have some family photos taken. I was really excited about this as it’s something I have wanted to do for ages, and while the boys are all still young.
Before the Zen Shots Shoot
The process started by booking a time slot for the actual photo shoot. During the call, it was explained to me what would happen at the 1-hour shoot, and I was given the chance to ask any questions.
I was also given lots of tips and ideas on what to bring to the shoot. For example, I was told to think about what each of the boys’ interests and hobbies was and then to bring props to suit these.
At first, I couldn’t think of anything but soon the ideas were rolling in, we took with us our PlayStation controllers, a football, soft toys, a load of colourful balloons, some books and our pet rabbits!
I was also offered some advice on what to wear for the photos and sent a link to some different styles of photos from the Zen Shots website.
Around a week before our photo shoot, I received another call to check if I had any questions, confirm the props I was bringing and chat about my preferred styles of photos from the link they had previously sent.
During the photo shoot
Zen Shoots have studios in both Northampton and Milton Keynes. We went to the Northampton studio which is located at Moulton Park.
As I mentioned, the shoot lasts an hour. That sounds a long time but it flies past! Due to the previous phone calls, our photographer, Latrice, was already aware of what props we had however he took some time to chat with us to find out what exactly we wanted.
I was worried the boys would be bored and uninterested after 5 minutes of photo taking but to my surprise, they were really enthusiastic and seemed to have a lot of fun!
Throughout the shoot, Latrice would advise us of ways to stand and things to do but was also happy and encouraging to let the boys and myself lead.
We were able to get a mix of photos of posed and natural photos. We also had some taken all together as well as individual. This is entirely up to you, if you want only group ones then that is fine.
As well as the photos being taken, the whole shoot was recorded as an extra memento.
Following the shoot
A week after our photo shoot we were able to go back and view the images. These had been put together in a beautiful video format with some music. I have to admit I got a little emotional watching the video and seeing the images.
All of the images had been edited into colour and black and white and there were a couple that were done against a purple background which looked amazing.
Once you have viewed the images you are given the option of purchasing any prints. Zen Shots strongly believe that anything you purchase is done so in a way that suits you best. There is absolutely no pressure to buy. If you do want to purchase a set there are a number of options available depending on the space you have at home and your budget.
Zen Shots also offer an interest-free payment plan they are happy to discuss with you.
Whether you purchase any prints or not, everyone receives a small, simple print to take home.
Final thoughts on Zen Shots
I enjoyed the process from start to finish. By the time you come to pick up your final prints, you feel you have made some new friends with the guys at Zen Shots. The quality of service as well as the prints themselves are unbeatable. The only downside is the tricky decision on which image to choose for your prints!
