Wicksteed Park is an amusement park in Kettering and is one of the oldest theme parks in the UK. I have been several times and always had a great time with my family.
You can purchase wrist bands or tickets depending on your circumstances. In Summer 2019 wristbands were £19 per child. Currently, as it is low season & not all rides are operational, wristbands are only £8.50! Tickets are £1.25 each or 20 for £22. You do need to pay to park 2 hours is £3 2-3 is £4 and over 3 is £6. A season parking ticket is available and is £40 and may be useful if you live locally as Wicksteed Park has a large free play area.

The park opens at 10.30 am during the summer and 11 am in the winter. Rides close at 4 pm or 5 pm depending on the season.
I would recommend this amusement park to anyone with primary school children. Older children could get bored although with some of the new activities Wicksteed Park is appealing to a more varied age group.
things to do…
There are loads of rides and the website and signage around the park clearly show height restrictions and how many tickets are required. On average it is 2 tickets per ride/per person. There is also a huge free play area with loads of swings, slides and climbing apparatus.
Lots of families take picnics but there are plenty of places to eat including the new Peacock Place with play area/sandpit attached.

My children love the Children’s lake, paratrooper, snakes & ladders astroslide, sway rider, Wicksteed racers and the log flumes. The water chute is the oldest in the world dating back to 1926!
We really want to return soon to have a go on the zip wire and indoor Clip n Climb (additional charges for both).
Wicksteed also has events on throughout the year such as tribute bands and antiques & vintage fair and also has camping so there really is something for everyone.
