We are so lucky to have so many places in Northamptonshire to see animals. Of course, we have a selection of farms and zoos but there are also a few less obvious places such as gardens and parks too.
I have put together this list of places in Northamptonshire to see animals. If you know of any more let us know in the comments below! *
Coton Manor is home to a beautiful collection of gardens, however as you stroll around you will come across some pigs, chickens, and even flamingoes.
Hamerton Zoo Park
For some reason, not many people seem to know about Hamerton Zoo however it’s a great day out. Here you will get to see a large variety of birds, lemurs, wallabies, a giant anteater, and some noisy gibbons.
Castle Ashby Gardens
One of my favourite places in Northamptonshire. After a walk around the gardens, you can visit the menagerie to see the chipmunks, giant rabbits, meerkats, tortoises, and a few other farmyard animals.

West Lodge Rural Centre
An amazing family day out, West Lodge has nature trails, pony rides, piglet races, tractor barrel rides, fantastic indoor and outdoor play areas, and other farm animals.
A great feature of Mini Meadows is the fact that you can get in the cages with some of the smaller animals to pet them. You can also buy some food for various animals that you can then feed on your way around the farm.
Fields Of Dreams
A little different from the rest, Fields of Dreams is run by Emi-Lu who works with the animals and local people/ charities to help them through spiritual healing. There are also different sessions available from animal therapy, meditations, guidance, and kids sessions.
Rookery Open Farm
With a pets corner, pygmy goats, and a huge indoor 3 storey play area there is lots of fun here.
Bliss Lane, Flore
A smaller farm but worth the visit when the lambs are born. Head up to the shop and for a small fee you can buy a bottle of milk to hand feed the lambs.
After a wander around the park and a play on the equipment, you can check out the birds in the aviary.
Llamas in Wollaston
If your driving through Wollaston then why not take 10 minutes to go and say Hello to the local Llamas.
